LoveEast meets Dr Neetu Johnson, owner of the Medaesthetics Room
Tell us about yourself, Neetu
I trained as a doctor of medicine and surgery at the University of London and have always had a desire to work closely with people to make them feel better. This is not just about prescribing medication but by connecting to the person.
What is aesthetic medicine?
Non-surgical treatments that improve physical appearance and mental well being.
As the founder of the Medaesthetics Room, I am bringing over ten years of medical, surgical and psychological experience, and my training helps me to understand the patient’s needs, as well as their confidence issues. I use my artistic eye to carry out safe, simple and effective treatments. People lead busy lives and want treatments that result in a natural look with a boost to their self-esteem.
With non-surgical treatments you treat the muscles and the dermis layers of the skin with injectable products, which temporarily paralyse the expressive muscles so deep-set lines don’t form.
As we age there is volume loss and bone change which can lead to sunken eyes and sagging of the skin. Here dermal fillers are injected into the dermis to plump out and support the volume lost.
All the products we use are FDA approved and free from animal cruelty. We only use industry-approved products of exceptional quality.
Your favourite treatment?
Dermal fillers – they are a great way to improve skin texture and naturally lift or plump the areas of volume loss. The results are instant.
What if people are nervous?
This is natural so I always go through their medical history to ensure there are no contraindications. Patients can be worried about pain. They key is to carry out the treatment in stages and to go for the “less is more” approach.
What’s your one piece of advice?
That treatments should be carried out by medical professionals. There are lots of non-medical people doing it who may be charging less, but it’s just not worth risking your health.
Why choose your clinic?
Our clients will have continuity of care as they are seen by the same doctor for treatments and follow-ups. We’re also very proud to be supporting the Cleft Lip and Palate Association, so by having your treatments with us you’ll be supporting their amazing work as a percentage of our profits goes to them.
